Pregnancy and after birth
Care before and after you have a baby
Care for pregnancy, the weeks after birth and the months after that, including belly muscles that have separated.
Pregnancy and birth change the pelvic floor and the belly, and few people are told what to do next. Visits fit your stage: how to move now, how to get ready, and how to start again.
This care is for you if
You are pregnant and your back, hips or pelvis ache
You want to get your body ready for birth and the weeks after
You had a baby and leak, hurt or feel weak or separated through the belly
Your midwife or doctor has cleared you to exercise and you are not sure how to start

Bleeding, fluid leaking, regular painful contractions, less movement from your baby, a headache that will not go away or swelling in one leg needs your midwife or doctor now.
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.
Questions about this care
When can I start after birth?
Ask your midwife or doctor what is safe for you. Wilhelmina fits what she does to what they have cleared.
Is it too late if my baby is not new?
No. People come months and years after birth, and what they notice often has not changed.
Can I come while I am pregnant?
Yes. Many people come to ease aches or to get ready for birth.
