Do I need a referral?
In Wisconsin you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one, and we tell you before you book.
Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?
Wilhelmina bills most PPO plans, Medicare and Medicaid. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit, and your plan has the final say on what it pays.
What if I pay myself?
You get a written estimate before your first visit, and you pay on the day. We do not bill your plan. How fees work has the details.
How long is a visit, and who treats me?
A first visit is about an hour. Wilhelmina Griffin, a licensed physical therapist, treats you at every visit.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what you are dealing with, how long you have had it, how your body responds and what you want to get back to. Wilhelmina reviews the plan with you as you go.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear clothes you can move in. Bring any notes or results you have, and your questions.
Will it hurt?
Wilhelmina works within what you can tolerate and stops when you say stop.
Do you offer video visits?
Some follow-up visits can be by video for people in Wisconsin, where Wilhelmina is licensed. The first visit is in the office.
What about an injury from work or a crash?
Tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care, and Wilhelmina can explain what she needs from them.
Do I have to be examined internally?
No. It is only offered when it would help, and the choice is always yours. Many visits do not include it.
